WTI PROVIDES GRANTS TO K-12 SCHOOLS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES WHO ARE COMMITTED TO EFFECTIVELY INTEGRATING INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY INTO LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS. THROUGH THE INCREASED AVAILABILITY OF INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS AND TECHNOLOGICALLY SAVVY TEACHERS, CLASSROOMS WILL HAVE THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO BECOME ENGINES OF INNOVATION THAT IMPROVE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT. THE GRANTS PROVIDE FUNDING FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS WILLING TO COMMIT TO BOTH INTEGRATING INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS INTO THEIR CLASSROOMS AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NECESSARY TO SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENT THEIR USE. GRANT RECIPIENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO PROVIDE AN ANNUAL REPORT AND SHARE BEST PRACTICES WITH THEIR PEERS ACROSS THE STATE.
