Supplemental Information. Provide the information required in Part I, line 2; Part III, column (b); and any other additional information.
Return Reference Explanation
PART I, LINE 2: THE ORGANIZATION AWARDS GRANTS TO A NUMBER OF NONPROFIT AND GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES TO ASSIST IT IN CARRYING OUT THE WORK OF COORDINATING AMONG THE MEMBER STATES TO IMPROVE FISH AND WILDLIFE HABITATS. THE ORGANIZATION NORMALLY REQUIRES A BUDGET FOR EACH GRANT AND REQUIRES THE GRANTEE TO PROVIDE A REPORT DETAILING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY SPENT ON EACH LINE ITEM. GRANTEES ALSO NORMALLY REPORT THE PROGRAM SPECIFIC BENCHMARKS MET BACK TO THE ORGANIZATION. THE SOUTHEASTERN AQUATIC RESOURCE PARTNERSHIP (SARP) COORDINATOR WORKS CLOSELY WITH MOST OF THE GRANTEES TO HELP ENSURE THAT PROGRAM OBJECTIVES ARE MET AND THAT GRANTEES SPEND THE GRANTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GRANT AWARD. GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS REPRESENT EXPENDITURES OF FEDERAL GRANTS THAT WERE USED TO ENHANCE WILDLIFE HABITAT ON LANDS OWNED BY PRIVATE OWNERS. THE ORGANIZATION REQUIRED EVIDENCE OF EXPENDITURES BY THE LANDOWNERS BEFORE THE ORGANIZATION REIMBURSED THE COSTS. IN SOME INSTANCES, THE ORGANIZATION PAID THE COST OF THE HABITAT IMPROVEMENTS DIRECTLY TO THE VENDOR DOING THE WORK. IN EITHER CASE, THE WORK WAS DONE AND REIMBURSEMENT MADE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE SARP COORDINATOR. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO MAKES GRANTS UNDER OTHER PROGRAMS, SUCH AS THE SOUTHERN WINGS, CONSERVATION LEADERS FOR TOMORROW AND SOUTHEAST AT-RISK SPECIES PROGRAMS. GRANTS UNDER THESE PROGRAMS ARE ALSO MADE MOSTLY TO NONPROFIT AND GOVERNMENT ENTITIES. THESE PROGRAMS ARE MONITORED BY THE ORGANIZATION'S EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, FINANCE MANAGER,AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THESE PROGRAMS SIMILARLY GENERALLY HAVE A BUDGET AND THE ORGANIZATION REQUIRES REPORTING OF AMOUNTS SPENT IN ORDER FOR THE ORGANIZATION TO REMIT THE GRANT FUNDING.
