PART I, LINE 2: RENTAL ASSISTANCE IS BASED ON HOUSEHOLD INCOME. ALL HOUSEHOLDS SERVED MUST INCOME QUALIFY AT OR BELOW 30% AREA MEDIAN INCOME (AMI). SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES CAN INCREASE THAT ELIGIBILITY TO UNDER 50% AMI. INCOME IS RE-CERTIFIED EVERY THREE MONTHS. RECIPIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO CONTRIBUTE A MINIMUM OF 30% OF THEIR INCOME TOWARDS RENT AND WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR SUBSIDY FOR THE BALANCE. SUBSIDY IS ONLY COMMITTED ON A THREE MONTH BASIS AND PARTICIPANTS MUST BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THEIR LEASE AND PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS. ALL ELIGIBILITY FORMS ARE KEPT IN THE CLIENTS FILE FOR 7 YEARS POST PROGRAM EXIT. ADDITIONALLY, ALL SUBSIDIZED HOUSING UNITS MUST PASS A HOUSING SAFETY INSPECTION AND BE PROVIDED IN SUPPORT OF A VALID RENTAL LEASE. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS. CASE MANAGERS CAN MAKE A REQUEST TO A SUPERVISOR FOR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE IN SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS ASSISTANCE IS USUALLY ONE-TIME AND UNDER $100. THOSE PARAMETERS CAN BE EXPANDED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE PROGRAM SUPERVISOR WHO REVIEWS AND APPROVES SUCH REQUESTS.
