Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services Description OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Hunger ReliefThe Foundation is one of the largest contributors to food banks and hunger-relief programs in the neighborhoods it serves. In addition, it is a proud supporter of Hunger Is, a proprietary program working to eradicate childhood hunger in America. In partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), Hunger Is raises awareness, engages volunteers, and raises funds to support innovative and effective programs throughout the country that focused on ensuring every child in America has access to a healthy breakfast. The Foundation will do whatever it takes to assure that no child in America will ever have to say "Hunger Is Me". OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: VeteransThe Foundation is proud to recognize the enormous sacrifice made by our Veterans, especially those who are injured while defending the freedoms we all enjoy. It has specifically focused on recent Veterans for post-September 11th conflicts. It raises funds and focuses its donations to organizations working in its neighborhoods to: Support veterans as they gain access to civilian employment Provide access to health care and support groups for the veterans and their families Support the families of fallen heroes OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Health and WellnessThe Foundation believes that it can be an integral part of its community. It has invested in its neighbors and the overall wellbeing of its community. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Health and NutritionThe Foundation has focused on providing its customers with a fresh and healthy experience every time they enter its stores. It helps to create healthy and thriving communities by supporting organizations that promote nutrition education and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Other OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: Hurricane Harvey ReliefFollowing the rains and flooding that engulfed Texas communities in Hurricane Harveys wake, Albertsons Companies Foundation raised funds from around the country to support those impacted. Funds were distributed among multiple organizations that focused on ensuring the basic necessities. For example: we supported the Houston Food Bank to provide food for those impacted as well as Rebuilding Together to help people begin to rebuild their homes. We also worked with direct relief organizations like the Red Cross in the immediate aftermath of the floods. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 10: California Fire ReliefSimilar to Hurricane Harvey Relief, when the fires ravaged both Norther and Southern California, Albertsons Companies Foundation stepped in to help. The funds we raised were distributed to several worthy organizations also focused on basic necessities as well as direct immediate relief. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 11:
