DURING 2019, THRIVENT MADE CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS OF $10,287,587 TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL. 2) PAMELA J. MORET IS A FORMER OFFICER OF THRIVENT AND SERVES AS A DIRECTOR FOR BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF MINNESOTA ("BCBSMN"). IN THE ORDINARY COURSE OF BUSINESS, THRIVENT PAYS BCBSMN TO PERFORM THIRD-PARTY ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE MEDICAL INSURANCE PLANS OFFERED TO THRIVENT'S EMPLOYEES. THE AMOUNT PAID DURING 2019 WAS $4,597,618. 3) PAUL JOHNSTON IS AN OFFICER OF THRIVENT. HIS SPOUSE IS AN OFFICER FOR INFAITH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION. DURING 2019, THRIVENT MADE CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS OF $129,732 TO INFAITH. 4) PAUL JOHNSTON IS A DIRECTOR FOR SARGASSO. DURING 2019, THRIVENT PAID SARGASSO $103,000 FOR INSURANCE PREMIUMS. 5) SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS LISTED IN PART VII OF FORM 990 (AND WHO ARE ALSO "INTERESTED PERSONS" AS DEFINED BY THE INSTRUCTIONS TO SCHEDULE L) ARE ALSO BENEFIT MEMBERS OF THRIVENT AND THEREFORE OWN LIFE OR HEALTH INSURANCE, AND/OR ANNUITY CONTRACTS ISSUED BY THRIVENT FINANCIAL FOR LUTHERANS. SEVERAL SUCH INDIVIDUALS PAID PREMIUMS FOR THESE CONTRACTS IN 2019 AND THE AGGREGATE PREMIUMS PAYMENTS FOR ONE OR MORE OF THESE MEMBERS EXCEEDED $100,000 DURING THE TAX YEAR. PROVIDING THESE BENEFITS TO MEMBERS FURTHERS THRIVENT'S TAX EXEMPT PURPOSE AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 501(C)(8) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. THERE WAS NO SHARING OF THRIVENT'S REVENUES THAT RESULTED FROM ANY OF THE TRANSACTIONS, WITHIN THE MEANING OF THE SCHEDULE L INSTRUCTIONS. THESE BENEFIT MEMBERS AND THEIR PREMIUM PAYMENT AMOUNTS ARE NOT INDIVIDUALLY DISCLOSED IN THIS INFORMATION RETURN SINCE (1) THE BENEFIT CONTRACTS ISSUED TO THESE MEMBERS WERE ISSUED IN THE NORMAL COURSE OF BUSINESS AND CONTAIN NO FAVORABLE RATES OR TERMS AS COMPARED TO CONTRACTS ISSUED TO OTHER MEMBERS, (2) "MEMBERSHIP DUES" ARE NOT SUBJECT TO REPORTING ON SCHEDULE L, AND PREMIUM PAYMENTS TO THRIVENT FROM MEMBERS ARE LIKE "MEMBERSHIP DUES" FOR THE PURPOSE OF SCHEUDLE L REPORTING, AND (3) TO RESPECT INSURANCE POLICYHOLDER PRIVACY. 6) CERTAIN OFFICERS OF THRIVENT ARE ALSO OFFICERS OF RELATED ORGANIZATIONS REPORTED ON SCHEDULE R OF FORM 990.
