#2 : EARLY LITERACY AND READ ON ARIZONA Form 990-PF, Part IX-A Read On Arizona is the state's third-grade reading initiative committed to building an early literacy system that improves language and literacy outcomes for Arizona's children, birth through age eight. Piper Trust is a founding member of this collective impact and collaborative that works to accelerate progress towards school readiness and K-3 reading proficiency. The Trust established and supports the Arizona Literacy Director who works in partnership with the Arizona Department of Education, Head Start State Collaboration Office, First Things First, and myriad agencies, philanthropies, and community partners to improve early childhood literacy.
#3 : VISION SCREENING Form 990-PF, Part IX-A Eyes On Learning is a collaborative effort that strengthens, expands, and advances children's vision health. The effort works to help ensure all children have early and effective vision screening and the appropriate follow-up services that are essential to good health and learning success. The Trust established and supports the Eyes On Learning Director who works in partnership with Read On Arizona and other state, local, and national organizations dedicated to vision health and learning success for all Arizona children.
#4 : PIPER FELLOWS Form 990-PF, Part IX-A The Piper Fellows Program is an opportunity for nonprofit leaders to develop a self-designed, professional development "sabbatical" and participate in transformational activities such as renowned educational programs and best practice site visits. Through an application/selection committee process, Piper Trust typically awards up to six Piper Fellows annually with stipends of up to $30,000 (each) that support the respective self-designed Fellowship activities. A Fellowship provides additional support for the Fellow's organization including: a $10,000 staff and board development grant and, the opportunity to apply for up to a $50,000 grant to implement learnings from the Fellowship.
