In fiscal year 2017-2018, we closed the after school academy component of youth education to reallocate current and future resources for expanded playcare services. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Adult education - the adult education program provides one-on-one and group instruction to adults in reading, writing, math, computer skills, resume building, job search, and English. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Energy assistance program - the energy assistance program provides funds to pay for utility bills to low-income individuals who qualify for assistance. The Sacramento Municipal Utility District SMUD reimburses the organization for low income assistance funds paid. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Immigration legal services - the immigration legal services program provides low-cost immigration legal services to help eligible individuals navigate the complex process of obtaining legal status. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Parent education - the parent education program helps parents and guardians with children 0-5 years of age learn about healthy and supportive methods of parenting that will assist in the development of their children. Parents and guardians earn credits based on their attendance which can be exchanged for valuable parenting supplies such as diapers, baby food, clothing, accessories, toys and other children's items.
