DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, ASSISTANCE WAS RECEIVED IN THE FORM OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS LOAN AND SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS; PELL GRANTS; SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY GRANTS; FEDERAL WORK STUDY FUNDS AND CARES ACT FUNDING. ADDITIONALLY, STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED AT THE UNIVERSITY ALSO RECEIVE LOAN FUNDS THROUGH THE FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN PROGRAM AND RECEIVE GRANTS AND FELLOWSHIPS AWARDS FROM A VARIETY OF FEDERAL AGENCIES SUCH AS THE NSF, THE NIH, THE VA, NASA AND THE CARES ACT. ALSO, DURING THE PANDEMIC, AS PART OF THE CARES ACT LEGISLATION, FEDERAL FUNDING HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT OUR MOST NEEDIEST STUDENTS WITH EMERGENCY SUPPORT AS WELL AS FOR THE UNIVERSITY, FOR UNEXPECTED EXPENSES RELATED TO THE DISRUPTION OF CAMPUS CLOSURES CAUSED BY COVID-19. |
