PART I, LINE 2: SCHOLARSHIPS: A TOTAL OF $33,351 GRANTED TO 33 PARTICIPANTS IN FISCAL YEAR 2022 INCLUDED: $17,363 IN TUITION GRANTS ISSUED TO 10 PARTICIPANTS, $7,893 FOR RELATED SCHOOL EXPENSES FOR 7 PARTICIPANTS, AND $8,095 IN WELLNESS GRANTS ISSUED TO 16 PARTICIPANTS IN THE RUN FOR THE FUTURE PROGRAM. RUN FOR THE FUTURE PARTICIPANTS BECAME ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS (80%+ ATTENDANCE AT PRACTICES, A 5K RACE FINISH, PARTICIPATION IN SPECIFIC NYRR EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AND PROOF OF ENROLLMENT FROM THEIR COLLEGE OF CHOICE). RECIPIENTS WERE NOT REQUIRED TO REPORT THEIR USE OF THE GRANT, SINCE PAYMENT WAS ISSUED DIRECTLY TO THE INSTITUTION AND RELATED SCHOOL EXPENSES WERE PURCHASED DIRECTLY AND/OR REQUIRED RECEIPTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT. WELLNESS GRANTS WERE ISSUED DIRECTLY TO PARTICIPANTS FOR THEIR HEALTH AND WELLNESS EXPENSES. TWENTY-NINE MIDDLE SCHOOLERS WERE AWARDED ENROLLMENT IN THE RUNNING WORKS CAMP, OPERATED IN CAMP CANADENSIS, PA IN AUGUST 2021. A TOTAL OF $17,208 WAS PAID TO RUNNINGWORKS, INC. TO COVER THE PARTICIPANTS' TUITION AND TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR THE CAMP. PARTICIPANTS HAD ACCESS TO SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION, OLYMPIANS ON STAFF, SCIENCE BASED TRAINING FOR EVERY LEVEL, STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY TRAINING, NUTRITION, GOAL SETTING, MENTAL PREPARATION, TACTICS, TEAM BUILDING, FUN CAMP ACTIVITIES, AND MILES OF TRAILS AROUND LAKE LENAPE. EIGHTY-TWO STUDENTS WERE AWARDED ENROLLMENT IN THE RUNNING SCHOOL'S ONE-WEEK CAMP, OPERATED OUT OF CAMP CHIPINAW IN THE CATSKILLS MOUNTAINS IN NEW YORK IN AUGUST 2021. A TOTAL OF $79,781 WAS PAID TO THE RUNNING SCHOOL TO COVER THE PARTICIPANTS' TUITION AND TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR THE CAMP. THE CAMP FOCUSED ON DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE AEROBIC, STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY TRAINING AND PROVIDED PARTICIPANTS WITH NUTRITION AND WELLNESS INFORMATION AND EDUCATION ON OVERALL BEST PRACTICES AS RUNNING ATHLETES.
